RRGC Ladies Member-Guest

It's now time to play catch up. The next few postings will bring us up to date (hopefully) on several of the events that have occurred at RRGC.

Here's the first one:

The Robson Ranch Ladies Golf Association conducted their first Member-Guest golf tournament on Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at the Robson Ranch Golf Club. The event was utilized as a fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Komen is a United States-wide organization that supports breast cancer research. The event raised over $2,100 for cancer research through donations, “mulligans” and raffles.

The tournament was conducted as a two person scramble over 18 holes with each player’s tee shot being used a minimum of four times. The top five finishers were as follows:

Pam Costner/Teresa Densley 70
Adele Wolyn/Phyllis Weber 72
Jean DeChristopher/Dee Lee 77
Terry Fondurulia/Carla Hill 78
Brenda Wedin/Margaret Erickson 79

Robson Ranch is a part of the Robson Resort Communities. The facility is located in Casa Grande/Eloy, AZ and is ideally situated halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. All Robson Communities feature an Active Adult Lifestyle which includes one or more golf courses.

Who Beat the Pro?!

During the month of January both the Men’s Club and Ladies Club at Robson Ranch conducted their seasonal Beat the Pro Matches. The golf was good and the excitement was spellbinding. And it must be said that the ladies fared far better than the men.

With twenty-one ladies competing ten shot a net score lower than the professional’s gross score of 74. The winners were:

Barb Chmilar - 66
Jan Brown – 68
Linda Carlberg – 69
Fran Fowler - 70
Pam Costner – 71
Sue Hart – 71
Kay Jacobs – 71
Glady Miller – 71
Dell Hoff – 73
Fran Schwatrz – 73

Congrats to all the ladies for their fine play.

The men, however, were another story. Of forty-two competitors only one was able to shoot a net score lower than the pro’s 66. The winner was…

Paul Hoff – 65

Congrats, Paul! A job well done.

This Week at Robson Ranch Golf Club

The New Year is coming! 2008 is almost gone and 2009 is just four days away. With a new year should come a positive approach to the game – play a little bit more and practice a little harder.

Weather forecast looks great for this coming week. Might be a little cool in the AM, but the afternoons you can expect temperatures in the 60’s. That means the course will be busy so be sure to think ahead for your tee times.

On New Year’s Eve the Golf Shop will close early probably around 3 or 4 PM. We need to get all of that end-of-the-month and end-of-the-year computer work done before we can ring in the New Year like everyone else.

When we open on January 1, 2009 the price for golf will be a slight bit higher. Our advertised special will be $39. This gets you 18 holes of golf to include green fee, cart fee and tax. The homeowner rate will be $34. Also remember for those who like to practice a bit, we are now offering a Range Pass. For $150 you get 100 tokens dispensed ten at a time. If you do the math, that computes to a bucket of balls for half price.

Hope to see you at RRGC this week.

This Week at Robson Ranch Golf Club

All that's happening this week Dec 7-13 at RRGC.

Once again this week RRGC will be awash in golf. Most of the “snowbirds” who patronize our golf course have returned and are enjoying our golf course as well as the practice facility. If you would like to play our course, try to plan a few days ahead so you can make arrangements for your desired tee time. And don’t forget our Tuesday and Saturday special: With a paid $30 green fee you will also receive a $5 coupon for use in the Bar & Grill on the day you play.

As we put fingers to keyboard there are but 17 shopping days remaining until Christmas. Many of our residents got into the holiday spirit at the annual Christmas sale. For those of you who participated, we thank you for your patronage. But for those of you still looking for a golf gift, come by the Golf Shop and let us help you select the perfect golf gift.

And speaking of golf gifts, if you are still trying to decide what the perfect golf gift is, check out this blog for a few suggestions. Or you can get a little more detailed here.
Our big event this week is the return of Magique Golf for a final demo day before Christmas. Jason will be here on Friday, December 12 from about 9:00 AM until whenever the crowd disappears. If you would like to make an appointment to have a free club fitting, please come by the golf shop and we will set it up.

Yes, Golfers, we have a Dress Code

Robson Ranch Golf Club strictly enforces a dress code that has been developed with the traditions of the game in mind. We feel that it is fair, simple and eliminates all subjectivity. We ask that all those who practice or play on any of our golf facilities be aware of our dress code and adhere to it. Golfers should bear in mind that it is part of the etiquette of the game to adhere to the rules and regulations of the club they are playing.

The following wording is taken directly from our Golfer’s Handbook.

General Information
The dress code applies to all members, homeowners, renters and guests of the golf course. Everyone is responsible to be knowledgeable of the dress code. The Head Golf Professional and staff have the right to determine what constitutes appropriate attire for the golf course and the practice facilities. No one will be allowed on the golf course if they do not meet the requirements of the dress code.

Shoes are required at all times. Soft-spike golf shoes, sneakers or rubber-soled shoes must be worn on the golf course and the practice facility. Any footwear that would damage a green is strictly prohibited.

Gentlemen
Slacks or golf shorts and collared or crew shirts with sleeves are required. No tank tops, tee shirts, athletic shorts, swimwear or tennis attire is permitted. No denim pants, denim shorts or cutoffs regardless of color are permitted.

Ladies
Golf shorts, skirts, skorts or slacks with golf shirts, blouses or sweaters are required. No tank tops, halter tops, athletic shorts, swimwear or tennis attire is permitted. No denim pants, denim shorts or cutoffs regardless of color are permitted.

We thank all those who utilize our golf facility for adhering to our simple and traditional dress code.
